Carolan Música antigua

CAROLAN`S DREAM

Carolan's Dream is a musical narrative about one of the last Irish bards and the greatest Irish composer of all time. Touring harpist, Turlough O'Carolan (1670-1738) composed hundreds of instrumental and vocal pieces that were, and still are, interpreted ever since then by musicians from around the world.

The music of Carolan is performed by La Xácara with instruments of the harpist's times. Contemporary of Vivaldi, Corelli, Bach or Haendel, this heritage was spread mainly by traditional musicians in Irish and British territory. In recent times the works of  musicians and researchers has helped us to  discovery  the magic sonority that the old instruments and the modal harmony   gives to this music restoring it to was possibly the original sound.
